Northwest Airlines has offered an exclusive discount to MCAA members on their cargo program.  In order to qualify an MCAA member needs t  to supply Northwest with an account number.  Please email MCAA your account number and remember to include your company and city name (See format below). No MCAA member can receive the discount unless they have established an account with Northwest and have had their numbered forwarded by the Association.  Email Your account number to bdecaprio@kellencompany.com.

If you don't have an account number please go to www.cargo.nwa.com and sign up. Then email MCAA the number you are assigned and we will pass it on to the appropriate person in the Northwest cargo department. The more people that get onboard with this program the better the rate that Northwest will give us. Even if you currently don't use them, you never know when this will come in handy.

We have had several questions on how to utilize our Northwest Airlines cargo discount program for MCAA members. It is essential that when you get a NWA account number you forward that number to MCAA so that we can pass it on to the appropriate person at NWA.

Below is an explanation from our NWA cargo representative on what to do from there.

The discount is only available when NWA invoices the customer (as a result, cash tender is exempt).  When the MCAA customer tenders the shipment, all they need to do is have their NWA account number in the "NW Account Number" box on the awb.  Although the counter agent will have no idea if the customer has negotiated rate (and will probably write the tariff rate on the awb), our Accounting system will recognize the account number and invoice appropriately.  Essentially, the account number has precedence over everything, regardless of what the agent writes on the awb.

NWA Cargo will invoice the MCAA rates based simply upon the use of your account number being on the awb.  No other procedure is necessary.  Upon entering your account number you will begin receiving these rates.
